Enjoy an evening of projections, cool tech projects by local artists, and a classic anime film. Art projects by Savannah-based artists will include large-scale projections by Will Penny and John Colette, and an exhibition of media art and interactive works made with AI. At 6pm, enjoy a screening of the classic animated feature Metropolis (107 minutes, 2001). Spectacular visuals highlight this acclaimed Japanese anime by director Rintaro, set in a futuristic, regimented society where human and robots are at odds. Often cited as among the most beautiful of anime films, Metropolis is inspired by Fritz Lang’s 1927 film and based upon the manga by Osamu Tezuka, with a screenplay by Katsuhiro Otomo (Akira). The film is rated PG-13.
